The North Midland Area United Retriever Club held a very successful gun dog training class test to round off the season.
Held at Cunliffe House, Hathersage in Derbyshire, by kind invitation of Mr and Mrs Dickson, the event saw a number of new competitors and their gun dogs attend. The test was generously sponsored by Alpha Feeds.
Judges, Brian Holmes and Cherry Wood had to make some tough decisions, trying to pick out the best handler and dog from each category. There were three sections in all, one for puppies and beginners followed by a novice and an open category.
Three breeds took part and all featured in the awards, where several handlers gained their first ever awards in working tests.
Winners received bags of Alpha dog food, trophies and certificates. The test and lunchtime BBQ made a fitting conclusion to the training season and was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.
