Suffolk Gun dog Club held a novice stake at Bunwell in Norfolk by kind permission of Mark Howard.
The 14 dog stake was judged by John Canham, Mike Jennings, Ray Fairweather and a foreigner to Easy Anglia, D. Robertson, who had travelled down from Scotland.
The day promised rain which was duly delivered in the afternoon but not until the trial was concluded.
Mark Trett, running his Brindlebay Ceasar, did constantly impressive work throughout the day, sufficient to clinch the first place.
The dog was running in his first trial and his handler was clearly delighted when he made his winner’s speech.
The judges: (below from left) Mike Jennings, Ray Fairweather, John Canham and D. Robertson.
