BASC has launched a new website to provide information about its 2008 centenary and announced the list of well-known faces who have agreed to be its centenary patrons.
The website includes information on the history of the organisation, centenary merchandise and events to mark the anniversary.
Simon Hamlyn, director of operations of BASC, said: "We created this website because we wanted to make it easier for everyone to find out what BASC was doing to mark its centenary year. The website will be constantly updated over the next year to keep everyone informed. We want all our members to get involved and help us mark a very special year in 2008."
The Centenary Patrons are drawn from a wide area, from politics to sport and entertainment, and all have been identified for their work to make the organisation a success.
From the sporting world are former English cricketers Ian Botham and David Gower and former England rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio MBE.
Other patrons include Clarissa Dickson-Wright, Sir Johnny Scott, Bernard Cribbins, Martin Salter MP, Jim Paice MP and John Thurso MP.
Simon Hamlyn said: "I am delighted that such an esteemed group of individuals have agreed to be our centenary patrons. They will play an important role in helping us promote BASC and shooting to the widest possible audience throughout our centenary year in 2008.'
