The sales of game meat in Waitrose have risen by 24% according to recent figures, illustrating the wider appeal game is having in towns and cities across the UK.
Waitrose are amongst a number of supermarkets now stocking more game including partridge, venison, woodpigeon, pheasant and mallard.
The demand for the Countryside Alliance's Game-to-Eat-point-of-sale materials from butchers and pubs is also reported to have reached an all time high.
Alexia Robinson, director of Game-to-Eat, commented: "With domestic demand on the increase, all shoots should be able to find buyers for their game this season. Demand for Game-to-Eat material is at an all time high, meaning that the market is looking really strong."
