England cricketer Alastair Cook was spotted relaxing at the Game Fair.

The CLA Game Fair at Belvoir Castle saw a brilliant turnout from the countrysports community.

Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire saw 136,000 people through the turnstiles for the 2009 CLA Game Fair.

The Shooting Gazette stand saw thousands of readers popping in to renew their subscriptions and take advantage of the Miller's gin offer, or to just say hello to the team.

Elsewhere British Association for Shooting and COnservation (BASC) shooting instructors set a Game Fair record with 535 people receiving a lesson.

BASC director of shooting standards, Peter Marshall, said: “The coaches do such a good job and have encouraged tens of thousands of newcomers and youngsters over the years to take up shooting following their lesson at the game fair.”

Other highlights of the show included the hair raising sight and sound of multiple hunting packs parading in the main arena, and a stunning spitfire flypast against moody skies.

Among a number of celebrities spotted enjoying the event were England opening batsman Alastair Cook and television presenter Phil Spencer.

With a huge gundog programme and teeming Fisherman's Row the Game Fair lived up to its reputation as the biggest and best gathering of countrysports enthusiasts in the world.
